The TOP Spot is a weekly top 10 list of whatever strikes our fancy at the time, this week:
THE TOP 10 FILMS OF THE DECADE!
Sinatra's Top 10 Films of the Decade:
10. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
(Adam McKay, 2004)
I've been quoting this flick for the past 6 years and plan to continue doing so for the rest of my life.
9. Hellboy
(Guillermo Del Toro, 2004)
Ron Perlman was born to play Hellboy
8. Spider-Man 2
(Sam Raimi, 2004)
2004 was a great year wasn't it? Sam Raimi finishes his 2 film love affair with Spider-Man on a high note before he starts slumming it with Emo Parker.
7. Minority Report
(Steven Spielberg, 2002)
Say what you will about Cruise but the man is still one of the best actors of the past 20 years and Spielberg created a world that I still think I could be living in before I die.
6. Where the Wild Things Are
(Spike Jonze, 2009)
A beautiful film that will punch you in the gut, dance around while you grasp for breath, help you up and then give you a warm hug.
5. Sunshine
(Danny Boyle, 2007)
Say what you will about the final act but this is my favorite Danny Boyle flick and helps give a much needed kick in the pants to the sci-fi genre.
4. Hot Fuzz
(Edgar Wright, 2007)
Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright. Nuff said!
3. The Dark Knight
(Christopher Nolan, 2008)
Everything to say about this movie has already been said, simply the perfect comic book movie.
2. Shaun of the Dead
(Edgar Wright, 2004)
See number 4.
and the TOP spot goes to
1. Monsters Inc.
(Pete Docter, 2001)
I get all the love for the more recent Pixar movies but my favorite will always been Monsters Inc. I can watch this movie anytime I see it on and it never gets old. Nothing is quite as heartwarming as when Sully opens the door at the end only to open the door and hear the familiar word "kitty". Excuse me I've got something in my eye

Honorable Mention:
Inglorious Bastards, Hellboy 2, Bad Santa, Blade 2, The Bourne Supremacy, Watchmen, Kill Bill, Sin City, There Will Be Blood, X2, Oceans 11, Collateral
Guilty Pleasures:
Transformers 2, Revenge of the Sith
