Green Lantern setting up Justice League?

Well if you ask me it may be considering todays new casting for the 2011 film.
It was announced today that Angela Bassett has joined the cast and will be playing DC comics staple Amanda Waller. Not familiar you say well let me put a little from her Wiki entry below:
Nicknamed "the Wall", she is a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad, a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty. She also was the former leader (code rank: White Queen) of the covert-ops organization, Checkmate. She later served as Secretary of Metahuman Affairs under President Lex Luthor, before being arrested in the wake of Luthor's public fall from grace. Waller was recently reassigned to the leadership of Checkmate as White Queen, but has been forced to resign because of her involvement in Operation Salvation Run.
Waller had a big part in the Justice League toons from a few years back and has as recently as this season been on Smallville (played by Pan Grier). To sum it up her role in the DC universe has always been controlling (or helping control) groups used to keep meta-humans (heroes) in check on Earth. She's been at the helm of Checkmate, The Suicide Squad, The Cadmus Project and President Luthors right hand (wo)man. Do you see where this could be heading...
Kudos for not going the animated route and casting Mo'Nique
My thoughts on the matter are that maybe we have our DC version of Sam Jackson, a character that could (and should) recur in future DC flicks. Word has it that WB is keen to get all sorts of DC movies going now that Harry Potter is reaching the end of its box office dominance. I don't see Waller being in any Nolan involved movies but if The Flash is next down the pipeline I could see her fitting perfectly. I mean WB/DC could do exactly what WB did ala Fury confronting Stark at the end of Iron Man.
In my head it plays out like this:
-Lantern Saves the day
-Hector Hammond in jail
-Waller warns Lantern
OR
-Offers Hammond a deal
-Credits
AWESOME
Maybe I'm putting to much into this casting but Waller is not in any way a Green Lantern centric hero. Rumor had it that there were a couple of DC cameos in store for GL and this seems to be confirmation of the first. Hopefully it all leads to an intertwined DC Universe. Marvel's not making all that cash for no reason, the know what fans want!
