I'm sure you've all seen this by now but WATCH IT AGAIN, the boys at Epic know how to cut a trailer thats for sure.

May be the game of 2011, 2 was for all intents and purposes the best 3-rd person shooter I ever played and besides a let down with the last battle (if you could even call it that) the game was fantastic, Cry-Baby Dom and all.

So what are your thoughts, looking good? Like the addition of chicks and beards?

Another week of class another slow start to the blogging week so I'm here with a quick news wrap-up from the world of Nerd-ery!

1. The Gears may be Stopping

It was March 2007 when the Gears of War movie was announced and seemingly on the face track, here we are more than three years later and we have no movie and its looking like we are still a while away from one.
[The film] was to be a multi-generational epic with a big-canvas feel. But the studio has now cut the budget, going from a film that would have cost more than $100 million to one that will cost a good chunk less than that. It’s also reined in the story, turning it into a more simple, straight-ahead invasion story instead of a sprawling epic. Producers are looking for a new writer to handle all this, but haven’t found one yet. And Wiseman, while technically still attached, will likely not be a part of it when all is said and done.
So Wiseman is out which is a shame cause I think he could have been a great director for this flick.

WE NEED THIS ON THE BIG SCREEN NOW!

I for one think that Gears of War could make a great movie if given the proper attention which it seemed to have back in 2007, sadly now...not so much.

2. Dark Life for Beatles Fans

So remember a while back when we were all super excited about Robert Zemeckis's Yellow Submarine starring the winning of British Invasion Week Peter Serafinowicz? Yeah and then the news came that Disney and Zemeckis's study had parted ways and that Sub was in flux? Yeah it sucked and now it gets more confusing as now Zemeckis is in line to direct a film based on Dark Life (a young adult novel I know nothing about) and there is no word YET on if its gonna be live-action or motion capture although considering Disney's stance on the cost of the projects I'd say its going to be Live-Action.

I have no idea what this is...

Heres a synopsis of Dark Life:
Set in an apocalyptic future where rising oceans have swallowed up entire regions and people live packed like sardines on the dry land left, DARK LIFE is the harrowing tale of underwater pioneers who have carved out a life for themselves in the harsh deep-sea environment, farming the seafloor in exchange for the land deed. The story follows Ty, who has lived his whole life on his family’s homestead and has dreams of claiming his own stake when he turns eighteen. But when outlaws’ attacks on government supply ships and settlements… … threaten to destroy the underwater territory, Ty finds himself in a fight to stop the outlaws and save the only home he has ever known. Joined by a girl from the Topside who has come subsea to look for her prospector brother, Ty ventures into the frontier’s rough underworld and begins to discover some dark secrets to Dark Life. As Ty gets closer to the truth, he discovers that the outlaws may not be the bloodthirsty criminals the government has portrayed them as. And that the government abandoning the territory might be the best thing for everyone, especially for someone like Ty, someone with a Dark Gift.
Just make Yellow Submarine! Theres no way it could be a failure!

3. Comic Con could be getting a Make-Over!

San Diego Comic-Con has been threatening to leave San Diego for the past few years as the size just hasn't been able to accommodate the crowds, well it seems that maybe that won't be a problem, hopefully.

Comic-Con expansion
Imagine the Possibilities!

In 2012 the current contract runs out and with cities like Anaheim and LA having larger more accommodating centers San Diego needs to do something drastic to keep control of one of the biggest events in the entertainment industry. Well the plans are starting to develop, From SlashFilm:
The plan is for a $753 million expansion of the San Diego convention center which would provide an additional 200,000 square feet of exhibit space, a third ballroom, 100,000 square feet of meeting rooms, and a new 500 room hotel directly behind the convention center. This would give the center a total of 815,000 square feet of exhibition space, about the same as Anaheim’s convention center.
Hopefully this all works out cause the Anaheim Comic-Con just doesn't have the same ring to it. Glad I'm going this year seeing as how it could be one of the last years.

4. Resident Evil 3-D (4)...Yup

Heres a trailer for the 4th Resident Evil flick which just so happens to be in 3 dimensions:

Paul W.S. Anderson (aka not the good Paul Anderson) is back behind the camera which may be all this has going for it, well that and trying to use James Cameron's name to sell the 3-D aspect of the film. In the end I'll watch it as I enjoyed the 1st, Liked the 2nd and Tolerated the 3rd and at least this time out we get Chris Redfield and some more game characters.

P.S.
Also to wrap things up I just wanna mention WEBSDOTCOM as they were running a TWITTER contest giving away I-Pads and I happened to win one! So props to them and If your looking to start a webpage head there way. A great bunch of folks over there. Also here's my winning drawing:

Till next time, take care True Believers! Maybe I'll post from my I-Pad ;-P
